Favorite summer memory from childhood was collecting sand dollars at the beach. I remember how excited I would get when I would find a whole one! I still have my collection, 20+ years later
Spending fourth of july at the Pismo Beach every year with my family.
My favorite summer memory from childhood was going to Huntington State Beach every day with my mom, sister and brothers! If we were lucky sometimes are Granny would join and wear her skirted one piece bathing suit! It was so cute!
when my dad taught me how to waterski and bear lake, while we were staying with family at a cabin on the lake. I was so determined to do it but was only about 6 so I was pretty scared. My dad held me up in the shallow end and the boat took off. It took a few times but I was so excited to see how happy and proud of me my dad was when I was finally able to get up and ski!
Spending the fourth of July each year at Pismo Beach with my family.
My favorite summer memory is going to Isle of Palm beach every year with our extended family. Lots of people and lots of beach fun!
Ohhh yay!! I always loved going to our local water park with my family, they had the best water slides and wave pool!
My favorite summer childhood memory is one that took place every summer growing up. Every year we would go stay at my grandparents beach house in Melbourne, Fl and would stay for at least a week. We would always take this trip with my other cousin Kate and my aunt Evie and uncle Tom. We would have such a blast running the neighborhood, riding bikes to the ice cream shop right around the corner from the house and of course watching the sea turtles lay their eggs. Every year there was always something different for us to do but this trip was what officially made me the beach bum I am today!!!
My favorite childhood summer memory is camping! I still love camping to this day. That was our big vacation in the summer. It was cheap, fun and we were kids, so anytime away from home was an awesome vacation to us (my mom might think differently). My favorite place to go was a place called Beads Lake. I live in Iowa, so we don’t have many waterfalls, but this place had a dam that made a big waterfall and that’s why I loved it there.
Ah memories!
P.S. – I don’t have a daughter, but I do have a niece that just turned 3 yesterday and this suit is exactly her size! She would look adorable in it and she’s already a fashionista!
My favorite memory was going to Seaside Heights and riding all of the rides on the board walk. Playing skee ball with my grandpa!
My favorite summer memory from childhood is spending countless hours playing on the beach at Camp Pendleton and watching my dad surf at Trestles. I now take my two kids to the very same beach to play and watch Grandpa surf
My favorite childhood summer memory is going to our jersey shore beach house, which sat at the end of the wildwood boardwalk. my 2 brothers and i (always troublemakers) would have 2 loaves of bread and would stand on the 2nd floor porch and throw bread as far as we could up in the air. about 2 minutes later, there would be about 100 seagulls flying around the yard, trying to catch what we would throw. our neighbors weren’t too pleased, haha. it was so much fun, a memory i will always cherish
My favorite summer of childhood would be when i was about 4 years old. I did not see my dad for about a year (as he was living in Florida for work)and for my 5th birthday, brought my mom, my sister and me down to Florida and paid us an entire week in a cruise plus a week-end at Walt Disney World! Believe me I was one happy little girl!! I even got my first kiss with Mickey Mouse
hehe
My favorite memories from childhood was going to Rehoboth Beach wash summer with my family. We would have to hit up Funland, Nicolas pizza and Dolly’s taffy! I am so excited to continue this tradition with my daughter and I would love to rock matching L Space suits with her!
My favorite summer childhood memory is going to Mexico for a family vacation and getting to wear my swim suit the whole trip, even though I didn’t touch the water once. Nothing has changed in 20 years. Its much more pleasant and relaxing to lay on the beach.
I remember our water-fights with the neighborhood kids! We used to all get together and play for hours! oh how i miss those hot summer days, so carefree!
My favorite summer memory was of me & my best friend who would would run around our yards in our wonder woman under roos:) Amy (a tomboy) refused to wear the bra-like top.
My favorite summer memory has to be those yummy firecracker popsicles. Mom would always give us those as she and dad indulged in daiquiri’s
My favorite summer memory from my childhood would definitely be going to the river with my entire family, which we still do, ALWAYS filled with laughs and love! But I think I’d say my favorite memory would be when my Dad and I were being towed behind the boat and totally ate it! Only because I’ve never seen him so scared in my entire life! Lol xoxo
My favorite childhood memory from summer was driving to see my grandparents in Iowa. My dad was in the military so we always lived on a coast but my grandparents lived in Iowa. We would dread the trip, but they always came up with some fun, creative activities for us to do while we were landlocked. Since my grandfather has passed away, I look back on those memories and realize although I didn’t want to go then, I sure am glad I shared that time with them now!
My favourite summer memories are the ones that include the feeling of the hot pavement under my bare feet as I’d run down to the lake at the end of the street. After swimming until we were raisins, we’d crawl over to the ice cream truck (which was perma-parked there through to labour day weekend). By the time we got home we’d be covered in melted popsicles. Mom would be there ready to hose us off before we went back inside!
I grew up on a beach and I’ve had numerous summer days spent in the sun with my best friend. My favorite memories would be taking our bikes and meeting each other in the middle of the island from her house on 6th to my house on 36th. We would then go to the beach together and find sand dollars in the water and just basically play all day on the beach.
But this summer I’ll have a new favorite summer memory because this summer I will become a first timemommy to twin girls- they’re due in July and I’m so excited for our summers together and showing them the beach I grew up on.
My favorite summer memory from childhood was going to the New Jersey Shore beach every summer with my family. Spending hours in the ocean and pretending I was a beautiful mermaid.

My favorite summer time memory is going to balboa island with my parents. Laying on the beach all day and going on the merry go round at night. Taking the ferry back over to get home and get a chocolate covered banana with rainbow sprinkles. Can’t wait to take my daughter there and enjoy everything that I did when I was her age in an adorable lspace fringe bikini!!!
My favorite childhood memory is spending literally all summer in my bathingsuit. I LOVED to swim, and growing up in Texas the summers pretty much required water activities if you wanted to be outside
Growing up we had a below average income and my mom being a single mom, we didn’t have extra money after bills were paid. My mom would always save and we would get 2 summer vacations. One would be our annual camping trip, which in all honesty, was not my favorite vacation. My favorite summer memories are of our annual trip to Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk. I’d be so excited the entire drive, we’d get out of the car jumping all around, just going bananas. My mom would even instantly turn into a kid and we’d quickly make our way to the beach to feel the sand, smell the ocean air, and feel the cool water on our feet. We’d usually get there really early so we could get the most out of every minute. We would eat a packed breakfast and lunch, but we’d each get treat on the boardwalk. My mom typically a caramel apple, myself a cotton candy, and my sister salt water taffy, which we all shared rather happily. We’d ride rides and switch with playing at the beach all day, and we would eat dinner on the pier which was amazing fresh seafood. Before we’d drive to our hotel down the road we got to stay up late and watch the live bands but we’d usually be pretty tired and just watch a few songs. My mom and I continue to tradition on my birthday because that is such a place of happiness and memories for me and what I want to do on my day still to this day. Even better, now we get to share it with my daughter, Angelina, who’s 6 and definitely my mini-me. This walk down memory lane just got me juiced for more summer memories!
My favorite summer memory was visiting my aunt and uncle in San Francisco and getting to experience Alcatraz, The street performers and the seals they were everywhere ! such a fun memory also the little shops downtown and china town was different ..when you are so young the experience is priceless! I hope one day I can give my daughters those kinds of memories.
My favorite summer memories from my childhood are our family trips to Daytona Beach. I would swim in the ocean all day long like a little fish then go to the boardwalk at night and play arcade games with my sisters for hours on end. THOSE were the days!
My favorite summer memory from childhood was playing in the waves and doing silly yoga poses under my cousin’s Tiki Bar, while listening to the live rockabilly surf band and watching my parents have a few margaritas. Oh, to be a child again!
Going to our local spot here in Melbourne, FL….spending the whole day there with my sister & mom, riding waves on our boogie boards til the sun was going down:) Then home to wash off the sand in the outside shower & put some comfy clothes on our sun tanned skin. Still daydream about it all the time!
My favorite childhood memory was going to the lake every weekend and spending time with my family. Our lake was a 45 min drive north and so we would make weekend trips there throughout the summer. I don’t think we ever missed a weekend. We would stay up late playing board games, having bonfires, making smores, and telling stories. Some quality family time that will never be forgotten!
My FAVORITE childhood memory is going to the beach with my family in the Outer Banks we would rent a house for a week and spend the days playing on the beach and surfing. We still do it every year and now the best part is I get to take my two little mini mes with me and share it with them.
My favorite childhood memory, which still happens now, is my father’s Fourth of July party. He always has an awesome firework display, and I love to watch him let them off; he’s like a child in te candy store!

My favorite childhood memory was learning to swim in Kefalonia, Greece. I went there as a child every summer and wore bikinis all day everyday! How can you ask for a better childhood?! Now I take my daughter there every summer and we stay in the water as long as we can dreaming of turning into mermaids so that we can stay on the beach forever! <3<3<3
Some of my all time favorite memories where at Catalina island. Every year my parents would take there boat there and spend a few weeks just enjoying the summer sun. I hope one day I can take my little girl there to share the same memories.
it has to be running through the sprinkler in the back yard with my brother!! so much fun
My favorite memory was spending summer with extended family vacationing on Block Island. A lovely, quaint island off the coast of RI.
My Favorite Summer memory as a child, is going to Malibu Beach,CA “The Wall” having the most Amazing Time! The Highlight would be a yummy lunch at the Infamous “Alice’s Restaurant” or the “Malibu Inn” with my Mom and Sister. We would play at the Beach all day, Body Surfing in the waves & Looking for Seashells, then by the later day, we would be famished.. I hold these memories close to my heart, as I don’t live near my Family or the Ocean anymore. However, I make due with the Amazing Rivers & Lakes near by, and Cherishing the Memories I am making with my own Amazing little Girls. Peace & Love <3
My favorite summer memory from childhood was packing my toys in my bags and getting into our motor home for our annual summer road trip. We would always go somewhere near a lake to camp! I loved it as a child being with my family. I remember thinking that our motor home was a mansion but as I got big, I realized it was such a small little motor home.
My favorite childhood memory with my mom was when we would get out the yellow slip and slide and put it in our front yard! So much fun.
My favorite memory was going to shell beach in nor call with my mom, brother and three dogs.we would collect beach glass for hours to add to our garden at home. Then our Bassett hound Willy would be so tired from the sand he would let us bury him in the sand. It was always a great day when we went there. I can’t wait to take my daughter there this summer with our .
My favorite summer memory from my childhood would have to be back when I lived in Honolulu and my mom would take me on a hike through beautiful, lush, breathtaking scenery to a gorgeous waterfall! Then we would hike back and take a quick walk down the road to a crystal clear beach with perfect white sand where we would cool off in the water. I remember you could walk a mile out into the water and it would only be as high as about your knees and we could see the pretty little fish swimming by. I would give anything to go back there when life was so simple and beautiful. Hopefully one day I can take my little angel baby on that same hike and to that same beach in her citrus fringe lspace bakini
so she can be as lucky as I was as a little girl!
Playing on the slip n’ slide in the back yard with all the neighborhood kids and to put the icing on the top….eating astro pops!
My favorite summer childhood memory was getting dropped off at T-street at 8am my 7th grade summer & laying out and spending hours in the ocean till my ride picked me back up at 5pm. Life was so easy breezy then… My biggest decision was whether to get a vanilla cone or swirl cone.
Before following my love affair with the ocean and moving to Florida, I had my summers in Pennsylvania. As a youngster, I used to love when it would get warm in the Summer because that meant I could run around on the black tar pavement with my shoes off and draw with sidewalk chalk. It also meant the creek down the block was warm enough to jump in and catch crayfish with other kids around the neighborhood. My only worries were when the sun went down to go home for dinner because we didn’t have cell phones
My favorite memory this summer was our first trip everrr to Aruba with my husband and daughters ages 7 and 3
I over came jumping out of a boat in the middle of the ocean not knowing how to swim (I know who doesn’t know how to swim!
Growing up, my family and I would spend our summers vacationing on North Captiva Island in Florida. My favorite memory was when I was playing on the beach and my grandma showed me how to do a cartwheel. She did it perfectly! Afterwards she was so sore. Needless to say, she never attempted to do another cartwheel again. I will always remember that she did a cartwheel just for me
I have so many summer memories at the beach or camping of my little 5-6 year old sister putting a can of soda or tennis balls in her bathing suit top whenever we weren’t looking because she wanted “bumps” like all the ladies on the beach! We still tease her till this day about it!
My favorite summer memory from my childhood would be going to Oasis beach with my mom and sisters. I have 6 siblings (4 sisters and 2 brothers) and it would always be a huge, fun trip. We would pack tons of food and toys, and by the end of the day we would all be so tired that my siblings and I would be sleeping and snoring on the car ride home. The time slipped through our fingers. This was one of the best memories of my childhood and I’m sure if you asked my family, they would say the same! <3
My favorite summer memories from when I was a child were during the few summer seasons that I paddled canoes with my best friends. Every Friday we would pack up and head out to the beach that our races would be held at and we camped out for the weekend. We’d wake up before the sun spending the whole day in our bikinis and slippers having the time of our lives. I have never been as tan or care free as I was with those girls in the ocean, under the sun
One of those summers was where I met my daughters father and ten years later here we are building a family together.
My favorite summer memory from childhood is when my daddy came to search me at the end of the school and to leave for the holiday on his super cool motorbike with just a panties and my “doudou” a little rabbit. I think love and laugh was enough to make me happy with him. And my daddy learned me lot of sports: swim, windsurfing, kayak… A very cool dad, who loved chocolate as much as me, and made my braids at the perfection… Miss those moments. Papa je t’aime.
My favorite summer memory would be when our water was not working in our home (we lived out in the country in Iowa). My dad took the day off to stay home with my two older sisters & me. It was pouring rain outside, and my dad thought it would be a great idea to go outside in our swimsuits & “shower.” It was a total blast putting our heads under the gutter spouts on the barn to wash our hair! I have never had so much fun dancing in the rain with my dad & sisters. I was around 5 or 6 when this happened, and I will never forget about that afternoon. I still think of it every time it’s raining when I look at that barn
My absolute favorite summer memory from my child hood was one specific week we stayed at Atlantis Paradise Island. I still laugh hysterically every time I think of this. We were 5 cousins in total. In the middle of the day we dared each other to ring the fire alarm of the hotel. We typically went in age order for a dare, me being the 3rd to go. When the first two chickened out I dropped all my belongings strutted down the hallway in my little 5 year old bikini and rang the fire alarm for the hotel. Needless to say the entire hotel evacuated only for me to have to walk up to the front desk and apologize. Even they couldn’t help but laugh. I was a wild child.
A summer memory that sticks out the most, would be when I was 9 – 10 years old, my neighborhood friend and I put water balloons in our swimsuit tops because we wanted to look older. We even rode our bikes around with them in… My mom still teases me about this
My favorite summer memory…well living in sunny california we had many!! Growing up in a home with a pool and being a twin and knowing that mom was buying a cuter bikini than last year! I just remember great BBQs and gathering with family and looking back at pictures and I have to say my favorite bikini was the daisy suit at 1 ish
Being a mom now, Iam so looking forward for summers and getting those fabulously cute suits for my daughter!!!!
My favorite summer memory is camping at an Indian reservation just out from San Diego and forgetting our tent and my BF and I having to improvise a tent with what we brought with us!
My favorite childhood memory would have to be spending summer vacation up in Maine with my mom. My dad still had to work during the weeks so when he;d come up to our cottage we’d still be down the beach and I would ALWAYS be busy swimming so as soon as I spotted him from where ever I was and sprint to him. Typically I was soaked and would make sure I got him a wet as possible. I was a true daddy’s girl and then my parents and I would grill for dinner and make smores before heading to bed and starting it all over again
Most of my favorite memories from my childhood come from spending time at my grandma’s house. She lived out in the country just up the hill from my great-grandparents, who would always had a bowl of ice cream waiting for me when I visited. I spent time feeding the buffalo and bear (yes, bear) with my great grandpa, and feeding baby goats, lambs, and riding horses with my grandma. I know it’s not a “beachy” memory, but those are some of the most care-free moments of my life, and I cherish most the memories of those who are no longer with me. As for my kids’ favorite memories, they love the time they get to spend at the beach in Florida, building sand castles, chasing the waves, and the occasionally sighting baby sea turtles making their way to the ocean!
My favorite memory from childhood is, going fishing and “crabbing” with my dad, uncle and grandfather late at night , after a whole day at the beach ,when we would just leave when all pruned It felt like such an adventure with only moonlight showing us the way.
My favorite memory this summer was our first trip everrr to Aruba with my husband and daughters ages 7 and 3
I over came jumping out of a boat in the middle of the ocean not knowing how to swim (I know who doesn’t know how to swim!

My favorite summer memories from when I was a child were during the few summer seasons that I paddled canoes with my best friends. Growing up in Hawaii the ocean is one of the biggest parts of life. Every Friday we would pack up and head out to the beach that our races would be held at and we camped out for the weekend. We’d wake up before the sun spending the whole day in our bikinis and slippers having the time of our lives. My favorite summer memory was running around with my twin sister all day outside in our swimsuits and having strawberry sales. We had a strawberry patch growing up and we would put the strawberries in red cups and sell them for 0.25 each whilst running around in our sprinklers.
One of my favorite childhood memories was in middle school, around the age of 14. My friends and i would sneak out of our parents houses and meet up with a few boys down the street. Our sunburned bodies would tingle as we shimmed out of the basement window, as the warm air would hit us when we all finally made it out safely. My best friend was the only one with a cell phone so we’d call the boys, huddled around the earpiece to tell them we had made it out and to meet up on the end of our street. We were living Michelle Branch song White Houses, and it was exhilarating. Such a rush of adrenaline ran through our veins as we ran past the neighbors houses, setting off motion sensors and holding our breath so even the dogs wouldn’t hear us. As we would approach the corner we could hear the boys voices in the distance. We always knew we were in for an exciting night once we started to see the boys faces in the moonlight. We would all start off a little uncomfortable but slow ease into the mood when we each paired up.
One special night we all laid on our neighbors soft , just mowed grass looking up at the stars on this warm summer night. So peaceful, naive, and innocent all of us, eyes glued to the sky; not knowing where we’d be in years to come.
My favorite summer memories was from summer camp with my friends in junior high. It was my first time ever kayaking on the river and it was so fun.
My favorite summer childhood memory has to be our yearly family barbeques at Heckscher State Park in Long Island, NY. It would be at least 5 car loads of family and friends excited for a sunny afternoon of volleyball, bbq’ing, laughter, music and of course LOTS and LOTS of pool action! I’d beg my mom for a new swimsuit EVERY summer just for this family trip LOL. Let’s face it, no one should have to wear the same swimsuit every year…even little girls! lol. My friends, cousins and I would stay in the pool until our fingers were raisins or until we got hungry! Those memories are some of the very best.
One of my favorite summer childhood memories was going to Palm Springs to visit my nana. It was always so hot there during the summer so she’d set up the sprinkler for my sister and I to run through. Then she’d pick us warm, juicy grapefruit from the tree in the backyard.
My favorite childhood summer memory was going to Pensacola beach for a family reunion, I had on my first two piece swimsuit from Mervyn’s, that I begged my mom for.
I remember that as I was running down to the water with my cousins we saw many of our family members running out of the water because they were getting stung by jelly fish! It was hilarious and frightening at the same time (cause I am from So Cal) but we patiently waited on the beach with the babies for the jellys to “pass”.
Sorry I completely misread this I was too excited!lol
My favorite memory as a child was when I used to live in Anaheim my best friend lived across the street from me so that was a plus plus!:)
We used to play outside our homes all day along with all the kids on our block. We ran our block lol we used to make our soccer field, draw lines with chalk to make our dodgeball field, we hung our own tether ball on a tree… We had it all!! And there’s was never a dull moment!:D Now I’m a mommy and we love spending our summers at the beach!
My favorite summer memory from childhood is spending countless hours playing on the beach at Camp Pendelton and watching my dad surf at Trestles. I now take my two kiddos (5 and 2) to that very same beach to play and watch Grandpa surf
I was blessed to have such a wonderful childhood and with that came many great memories, but the one that really sticks with me is going to the county fair. We would go every Summer and ride rides, look at the farm animals, play the carnival games, take button pictures and of course eat all the delicious treats! Lol:) Cotton candy, elephant ears, caramel apples, space burgers, the list goes on and on. Mind you the fair lasted about 4 days.;) Being a mother of two, I now get to keep the family tradition going by taking my children and they get to enjoy all the things I did when I was their age.:)
My favorite summer memory as a child was traveling to Michigan to visit my grandparents. They lived in a cabin on a lake and we would spend all day outside. Whether it was laying on their dock soaking up the rays, fishing on Grandpa’s pontoon, canoeing down the nearby river, or picking fresh raspberries, they always showed us a good time. My grandma passed this past year and I am so thankful for all of the summer days we were able to spend together. My parents still own the cottage and I can’t wait to take my daughter there this summer to share the experience with her. ❤
my favorite summer childhood memory was packing my suitcase in chicago, putting on my bikini & sunglasses and telling my family i was “ready to florida!”. now my new family lives in florida and my daughter has the opportunity to wear sunglasses and a bikini whenever she wants!
I favorite childhood memory was when my family and I went to the beach. When I say the word favorite memory, I say it loosely…it is more something my family laughs about. This particular beach trip my brother and I got so burned that we were bright red! It was so painful but nevertheless we still had fun. On the way home, we stopped at McDonald’s. When my brother and I walked inside, a black lady laughing said, “I have seen black people, brown people, and white people, but I have never seen red people.” No matter how many beach trips I may go on I will never forget this memory.
My favorite childhood memory is my beach days with my mom. Living only miles from the beach, we were there often. We would collect seashells, play ‘run away’ from the waves, she would bury my legs and make me look like I had a mermaid tail, we would get up early and watch the sunrise, take our dog for walks to chase the seagulls and watch the local surfers. The beach was always my happy place. I used to dream of living there! Being a mommy now (to an 11month old baby girl) I want all the same for her! She had her first beach trip when she was 3 weeks old- and we go all the time! She is my world and it would be so special to me of we could have adorable matching bikinis for all our beach adventures to come!!!! XOXO

My fav summer childhood memory is traveling to florida to spend time with my grandma, also spending time at Walt Disney ,where every little girl begins to dream.
I would love to win these suits for the lady who allows me to relive my summers as a child by continuing to invite me out to the tiny town of Blythe, CA where our families had vacation homes on the Colorado river. My family sold ours years ago, and I long for the long summer days, living in our bathing suits am eating and drinking out of the ice chests out moms packed for the day on the water. Now we’re grown and she is the hottest mama out on the water, and her and her daughter Claire would look adorable representing the L*Space all summer long!
My favorite summer memory from childhood was eating homemade icepops in the backyard. They would melt all over us! We would put on the hose to clean off, which would lead to a super water fight!
My favorite childhood memory would definitely be this one week we went to Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the summer when I was 5. I would like to explain that I was young and wild, my pack of 5 cousins decided to run into the hallway and dare each other to ring the fire alarm. I can’t remember who came up with the idea all I know is that my 2 older cousins chickened out and since I was next in like, you better believe I dropped everything I had with me and strutted down that hallway in my favorite little bikini and pulled with all my might. The entire hotel evacuated and I had to explain to the receptionist what had just gone down. This story never seized to make my family or I laugh every single time it comes back into conversation. LOL
These are so adorable. My favorite memories as a child were always in the summer. The one that stands out in my mind the most is the summer my family took a an RV and visited all the beaches on the coast of California.
My favorite childhood memory is swimming in our horse tank in the backyard for hours on end. We lived out in the country and so this was the nearest swimming hole in Kansas. My brother and I would go around and round the tank and make a “whirlpool” and just float along. I kinda miss doing that!
My favorite summer memory is hearing the ice cream truck coming down my street and playing its music. Since we lived on the top floor of an apartment building, it was always a big race to see if we could ask for some money and make it downstairs in time to get some ice cream before he drove away!

My favorite summer memory is going camping with my family and 6 other families who all had kids around my age and my brothers age. The kids would go wild and so would the parents (I am sure there was a good amount of alcohol involved)…fresh air, sailing, sunshine, tents, cooking over an open fire, telling ghost stories, smores. I hope to do something like that with my littles someday…
My favorite memory is my baby brother waking me up every morning (before the sun came up) to make him some of my “famous” waffles before we spent the day playing sharks and minnows at the pool and then coming home to catch fireflys. he was always so excited until the next morning when the fireflys where no longer flying…Even though I was tired at the time I will always cherish those moments with him, especially now that he is a slightly obnoxious 17 year old teenager. (And now I get to pay him back by sending my baby girl to wake him up…”Uncle Justin…”)
My favorite summer memory from my childhood would be all of the camping trips to a place called Ladoga in CA that is pretty much just dirt and water. Oh the joys of being a kid, getting dirty and not caring for one second about it, sleeping in TENTS (*gasp* lol) and living in a swim suit. We lived in that water all weekend and listened to good tunes on the boat. Sublime and Steve Miller Band (to name just a couple) brings me back to some great times! Now it’s time to do the same for my kid and niece and nephews.

When I think of childhood summer I think of setting chairs up at 2am in Ebay on the third of July to save a spot for the next day. Miss those days!
My favorite summer memories as a child all consist of one person, my mother.
no one could ask for a better mom. she devoted her time to me and made every summer special. ranging from horseback rides, to road trips. I owe everything to her and I can’t wait to return the favor and be able to take her on the trips she always wanted to go on yet pushed aside to spend time with her children. I love you mom <3
My favorite childhood memory during the summer was hanging out at the beach all day on the 4th of july. We would hang out all day and waited until it got dark and then we lit Fireworks all night. This was before Newport beach Band fireworks on the beach. It was a tradition I loved and wish that I could do it with my kids!
My favorite summer childhood memory was hanging out at the beach all day every 4th of july. We would hang out all day and waited for it to get dark. Once it got Dark out, my dad would lite up a bunch of fireworks on the beach for me and 7 of my siblings. This was before they band fireworks on the beach. This is a memory I will never forget and wish that I could do with my kids!
The days when I use to make mud pies in my backyard – basically they are pies that are made out of mud. I’d make them inside a Frisbee and then pick flowers in our garden and place them on top. I also loved the smell of Earth and hearing the birds sing every morning. Those were such good memories.
Going fishing with my dad in a tournament when I was 8 and winning first place
My favorite childhood memory is spending warm summer days in our backyard pool with all the neighborhood kids and getting our hands sticky from eating too many popsicles! A simple but memorable moment for me
When I think back on my childhood summer memories, I always remember the Summer Camps that I’d go to. We’d have outings to the beach, the pool, movies, hikes and other outdoor activities, basking in the sun. Those were the days!
Every summer my family would go to Ft Lauderdale, FL. we had a condo right on the beach. 4th of July, setting off fireworks was a blast. I was always in a teeny bikini and never wanted to leave the water! My most favorite memories are in that condo and on that beach. Our family is going back this summer to celebrate like old times & I get to show my daughter the makings of memories!
My favorite childhood summer memory would have to be going on a different family vacation every year!! Leaving southern Cali and experiencing different places!! No matter where we went it was always a blast!! From Canada to Mexico to different states in between. My dad would always throw in a little shipping spree wherever it was that we went!! We were able to experience so much, from going jet skiing on a lake in Idaho to walking around the big apple and sightseeing to going to Texas and soaking in the hot sun!! My childhood summers were the BEST!
My favorite summer memory was growing up on the beach and finding SEA HORSES in the sea weed with my siblings! Unfortunately, now I can’t take my daughter down to the same spot to find the same little critters. The water is very polluted but hopefully one day they will be back! Protect the Ocean! Xo
My favorite summer childhood memory was growing up in Southern California. My dad was a surfer and he would wake up at 5:00 in the morning and my sister and I would tag along. Most of the time we would go to Trestles and skateboard the long trail. One time we saw a mountain lion in the brush, it was so surreal. We would spend the day body surfing, collecting shells and trying to spot our dad on a wave. Some of our other frequent spots were Old Man’s, Salt Creek and Newport Beach. The beach just gives me a calming, and peaceful feeling. I am definitely a Southern California girl!
I had one of the BEST childhoods growing up at Myrtle Beach SC! My favorite memories are family days at the beach building sand castles & sculptures that got better with each passing day
My Dad was like a big kid & loved to have fun so it was always an exciting time! My Dad passed at an early age & we moved from there so those are memories I hold near & dear to my heart <3
I have 2 toddlers now that he never had the pleasure of knowing so when I visit there with them boy do the memories flow!! I feel his presence all around us…it really is a beautiful emotional time <3
My favourite summer memory as a child took place at Loon Lake, Saskatchewan. We went there every year and spent the days tubing behind the boat, trying to get the biggest air off of huge waves, swimming, playing on the beach, exploring the trails through the trees and spent the evenings by the campfire roasting marshmallows and playing guitar.
We would have annual water fights between the neighbouring cabins – the best one ending when the water balloon sling shot sent a VERY full balloon over the cabin across the street, landing SMACK in the middle of the fire pit! There were ashes and water everywhere.. And we won that round!
I am very thankful that our summer trips to Loon Lake have continued into my twenties and this past summer I introduced my baby girl to these pastimes that I hope she will be able to appreciate as much as I do!
I moved around a lot growing up because of my dad’s job, but we spent a year and a half in Instanbul, Turkey when I was very young. We went to the beaches a few times, and I fondly remember this one trip we took for the 4th of July with a bunch of other ex-pats. The adults BBQ’ed on the beach while the other kids and I played in the lagoons and caves. Then there was a big family tug of war and also a sandcastle building contest. I vividly remember the “castle” my 4-year-old brother made, which was basically a cone shaped pile of sand he made by taking the wet, dark colored Turkish sand and dripping it through his fingers to make this cone castle that looked like something Gaudi would have conceived. Perhaps the cutest picture ever of my brother and me was also taken that day: sitting on the beach with my arm over his shoulder, our strawberry blond hair curling in the humidity, my brother’s teal swim trunks with his little kid belly sticking out, and my favorite monokini of pink, yellow, orange and blue neons tipped in black that I wore all summer. Funny how my favorite memory of the 4th of July wasn’t even on US soil! But the spirit was the same.

One year my grandmother took me to an inexpensive motel near the beach in Ventura, Ca. She just wanted to ‘get away’ for a week, and we only lived about 45 minutes away, but it was our little ‘vacation’. The first day we were there, I found a litter of stray kittens on the rocks at the beach. They were probably about 10 weeks old or so. In that crazy playful stage…but they were SCARED of people. During that week, she let me spend practically the whole day trying to coach the kittens to come to me. One in particular was white and had a black spot right on his nose…I called him Inky. Anyway, day after day, (bribing them with food, milk, tuna, string and toys), they slowly, slowly decided to come play with me. By the end of the week the kittens would come straight up to me and I can remember the feeling of them purring on my legs. I cried as we got ready to leave the motel the last day. But as we drove off, we stopped by the beach and my grandmother took me to get the kittens. We took them home, to the vet, and found homes for all of them…except for Inky. He stayed with me. I always loved animals, but the experience of taming those little guys and making sure they had a good life really taught me true compassion and just solidified that love of animals for me. Today I don’t have a daughter of my own, but my next door neighbors’ two little girls are my ‘adopted’ daughters who visit our house daily to visit our animals. We have a mini zoo

My absolute favorite summer memory from childhood is the penny fair my Mom would put on every summer in our front yard for me, my little sister and the neighborhood kids. We would set up little games and charge a penny to play. My favorite was the game of trying to throw a sandbag trough the hole cut in cardboard. So simple but it was hours of fun! My mom is/was the best!
I was lucky enough to grow up in a beautiful beach town. Our family never took vacations because we were lucky enough to live in such a beautiful place, so why leave? Now that I am older and have a daughter who is almost 2, I want to make sure that she is able to have some of the same experiences that I have had. Every year we make the trip back to my hometown to make more summer memories. I also believe that every baby girl named Audrey deserves an L*Space Audrey swim top
A favorite memory of mine during summer as a child would be taking trips to pismo, morrobay and Avila. The best times were staying in our condo and my sister and I would take pictures of ourselves with my mom’s polaroid posing in our bathingsuits. We had to have 2 each which were little mermaid
I can see that happening all over with my niece if she wins a cute bikini like this one
My favorite summer memory from childhood is our trips from LA to San Diego! We would be sitting in the car for what seemed like hours waiting till that moment when we rolled down our windows and smelled the ocean breeze! That alone made the trip worth it. Next stop, the beach!Building sandcastles, collecting sand dollars, boogie boarding, or just throwing ourselves into the waves will always be my favorite memories!
My favorite childhood summer memories was going to Crystal Pier in San Diego. I can still smell the ocean and loved the sound on cars driving on the pier. My mom, brother and I would go and spend hours on the beach, building sand castles, collecting sand dollars, eating icecream and playing in the sun… not a cares in the world. I love looking at pictures of our trips now, seeing how beautiful my mom was then and still is now, and easy life was as a kid. Can’t wait to go back with my mom and my two daughters now and relive the summers.
As a child I remember my parents renting a beach house for a week and spending all day playing in the ocean and building sand castles. I also vividly remember wearing the same swimsuit as my child hood best friend and convincing people we were twins. We even got a few people to believe us lol. I don’t have a daughter but I have a niece that I care for as if she were my own and people always comment how she is a miniature me, and I am “HER Ash-a-lay”. She loves everything her auntie does and I’m sure she would be the happiest girl if we could wear matching “swimmie” suits when we go to the beach.<3
My favorite summer memory is swimming in the creek at my grandparents house is Pawleys Island, SC with my dad and sister. Despite having to wear tennis shoes because of the oyster shells I ALWAYS rocked a stylish bikini!!I’ve been a bikini fanatic since I can remember!! I’m sure my little girl will be too!! Ready to make some summer memories with her in a matching bikini!!
My favorite childhood memory is selling lemonade in front of my childhood home. No one ever came all the way to the back of the subdivision where I lived so I rarely had customers. Every time I had a lemonade stand I would wait patiently for the customers that never came. My neighbor, Rick, would always come by at the end of the day, give me $1 for my $0.25 cup of lemonade and told me to “keep the change”. Although $1 is not much, it meant the absolute world to me. I will never forget that memory.
my favorite summertime childhood memory is the summer I taught myself to swim…I miss being as carefree and fearless as I once was as a kid. I look forward to watching my own daughter live life to the fullest in the warm summer days ahead.
My favorite summer memory from childhood was when my mom would drop my sister & I off at our uncles’ bed & breakfast in High Springs, FL for 2 weeks every summer. They would take us everywhere, we went tubing, kayaking, and canoeing down the Ichetucknee river, swimming in all the nearby springs, eaten at every dive restaurant near the river, stayed overnights in hotels with the coolest pools we could find, they even drove us up into Georgia to Wild Adventures theme park/water park. And we would go to the nasa space station in Cape Canaveral, and stop at this alligator farm/park thing, and checked out Christmas, Fl. Never a dull moment. So much fun.
My favorite childhood memory was going to the beach with my mom. She would throw me into the waves and I’d have the biggest smile and laughter on my face. I’ve fallen in love with the ocean and waves ever since and my mom and I still go out together… but now on paddleboards!
My favorite childhood memory was learning how to swim, however I was not expecting to learn how to swim that day. I was running around our pool and testing my luck by dipping my feet in every once in a while. That’s when I fell in! To everyone’s surprise, I doggy paddled my way all around the pool and refused to get out for the rest of the day!
One of my favorite memories from childhood would be riding on the tire swing at the park that was down the street from my old house
. Thinking back on it, there was something so beautiful, childlike, freeing and innocent about swinging on the tire swing smiling in delight without a care in the world. I dont think anyone has ever had a bad time or memory on sa tire swing…unless it was going too fast and too high!
We would wake up on Saturday mornings to the smell of potato and eggs cooking. We would all pile into the car with all of our “gear” boogie boards, towels, chairs, coolers…and drive down to the “Jersey Shore.” We would spend the day riding the waves, eating potato and egg sandwiches, and listening to “oldies” on the radio. Beach Saturdays were a huge part of my childhood and I cherish those memories with my family, especially since our dad is no longer with us. I plan on continuing these traditions with our little girl and teaching her how to ride waves, just like her Grandpa Ralphie taught me *smiles*
My favorite summer childhood memory was going to Newport, RI with my parents. Walking the cobblestone streets and touring the historic mansions was a tradition that I soon began with my own daughter!
Every beach trip my daddy would find an dead palm tree leaf…. Make my 2 younger siblings and myself sit on it…. He’d then tell us to hold on as he tied a rope from the palm tree leaf end to his stomach….. It was our own personal “sand sledding” and my daddy was our “husky” we’d then finish the day Sipping a few fresh coconuts…. Daddy’s little girls for life <3
My absolute favorite summer memories are of days spent at T Street beach, boogey boarding with my brothers and sister, digging in the sand… and of course, putting pennies on the train tracks for the trains to flatten! I always got an afternoon ice cream Sunday from a little food shack on the beach. I can’t wait for this summer with my mini me because she is a true California girl and will be my beach date all summer!
When I was a little girl, I grew up in a house with a swimming pool. Since mine and my sister’s birthdays were both in January, our parents let us celebrate our “half birthdays” in July. We celebrated with a pool party of course!!
My favorite SUMMER childhood memory was making homemade ice cream on the front porch of grandma’s house with all my cousins. Our arms would turn to jello from all the churning, but it was so delicious and rewarding on a warm day!
My favorite summer memory from childhood is when i learned how to surf with my dad. I am from Tahiti so everything turns around the ocean. Surfing came as a natural thing in my life.I remember standing up on my dad’s boards, spending hours in the water, comfortable as fishes in their element.
The best part of it is being out there, surrounded by waves and people I love, and see the smiles on all the faces. No words can describe this feeling. The ocean will always be my favourite place. So now i can’t wait for my little bug to grow up and teach her how to surf. She is only 6months old but already loves the water.
Liquid sunshine dripped from our salty hair as we sat on our matching barbie beach towels, little girl giggles harmonizing with the crashing melody of undulating waves. Snub-nosed, carefree, equal parts sunburned and suntanned-these lazy beach days at Turtle Bay were the highlight of every summer. For as long back as I can remember, our “gang” of five families would pack up for a mini “stay-cation” and spend three blissful summer days basking in the warm smile of the island sun, diving like mermaids into the jewel-toned waters, catching little tide pool treasures, scouring the sands for pearly white shells, and satisfying our little stomachs with bonfire s’mores. Good times, good friends, good laughs. Wearing our flower-print bikinis 24/7, this was the life.

My favorite summer memory was going to Carpinteria State Beach everyday with my best friend. We would swim out to the platforms, dive for sand dollars, gaze in wonder at the little beauties, then safely put them back. In our favorite bikinis, we would pretend to be professional boogie boarders, mermaids, and lifeguards. My dad taught us how to surf and we bonded on the waves, cheering each other on, trying to hold hands on party waves, and inventing in our brains a way to attach a little water heater to the bottom of our boards. I fell in love with summer as a child, so when I was old enough, I chased summer all the way to Hawaii where it is summer all year long!
By far my most favourite summer memory, which still lives on as one of our favourite LOL family memories is when I was 6. Sitting at the end of the dock at my parents cottage, I suddenly got an urge to scratch. The tingle on my butt was something of an annoyance….I stood up quickly and to this day I still recall the horror in my screams! I had aunts in my pants! They were everywhere. My itty bitty bikini was filled with them. I don’t remember much after that, as you can imagine, the horror. And although I’m sure it was terrifying, without those memories we wouldn’t be who we are today.
My all time favorite childhood memory was taking the Jetskis out to lake tahoe every summer. My mom would pack plenty of food, my dad would go fishing. And although our family is distant and my father deceased. I still continue that family tradition of heading to the lake with my 7 year old boy and 3 year old daught. Influencing them to be one with nature, away from a world filled with everyday technology. Oh sweet summer memories.
My favorite summer memory as a child was my little sister and I waking up to a hot day in Texas and immediately putting on our bathing suits and never taking them off for the entire day. Our mother set up our very own little water park in the backyard with a blow up pool with a whale in the middle that spouted water out of his head, the sprinklers, and a slip and slide and we played in there until lunch. After lunch, we sat on the kitchen floor with our Snoopy Sno-cone maker and turned that little handle for what seemed like forever to even make just one sno-cone…and we loved every minute of it. After that, we would ride bikes with all of the neighborhood kids into the woods to taste the honeysuckle straight off the bush and swing at the playground. We ended the day lying on the cool concrete driveway, staring at the clouds, pointing out what we imagined them to be…a fish, a man’s face…It was an awesome time and place I’ll never forget.
My favorite SUMMER childhood memory was having my older cousin Chuong take my cousin Natalie and I to the beach. He held our tiny little hands as he took us down to play in the water – the rushing in and out of the waves struck fear into Natalie as she clung ever so tightly to his leg for dear life, and I being a waterbaby tried so desperately to have him left go for me to immerse myself into the ocean. Instead of summer days with friends/girlfriend, he filled those warm sunny moments with play dates with Natalie, myself, and our siblings. I miss him just as much today as I did the day he left me…RIP CHUONG <3
My favorite childhood memory is learning how to sail and windsurf at summer camp. My friends and I would spend hours learning how to stand up on the surfboards not realizing it was so difficult because there was no wind and few waves on the tiny lake in Michigan.
My favorite childhood summer memory…
All the women in my fam would go to our condo in Ocean City, Maryland every year since as long as I can remember. No men allowed! We would spend a week literally-on the beach. My aunt would go down super early to set us all up since the beach would crowd quickly!! My mom and aunt would cut up so much fresh fruit, make sandwiches etc for the day. My cousins and I would always buy matching suits in different colors-we all needed to match! Zinc anyone?! We would be first on the beach, last to go. I remember afternoon naps on the beach being the best. At night we would go to the boardwalk and get choc covered strawberries and bananas on a stick and go on the rides. Do it all over again the next day.
Now that we are all having babies, I can’t wait to continue our tradition.
Thanks for the submit and taking me back to that.

I have really close knit family, an when summer finalllyyy came around I could hardly wait to go to my grandpas camp on the ammeat river in Louisiana. We didn’t have the beautiful Florida beaches I’m use to now but it was all I needed / wish I could go back. I looked forward to having all my family together so we could go tubing, skiing an jet skiing an lets not forget Cajun cooking. I remember my mom having the coolest sunscreen that was pink an blue so needless to say I looked great in all our family photos. We also stayed the night there an my grandpa would pile all the grandchildren in his bed to go to sleep, he is no longer with us so these memories are def cherished. An so is this sacred camp … Thanks for brining me back to these wonderful memories L*space
